Voges ton puts Notts in command
At 145/5 it looked as if Notts may not capitalise on the
bowling display by Andre Adams that saw Middlesex slump to 98 all out in their
first innings. However, a 176 ball 105 from Adam Voges, supported by 71 from
Chris Read saw the pair put on 143 for the sixth wicket as they pushed towards
a comfortable lead.
The tail failed to add too many but a total of 329 all out
means a lead of 231 going into day four. Sadly, as I write, rain at Uxbridge
has ended the day prematurely and the forecast is mixed for Friday and
Saturday. However, if the weather predictions are correct then there is enough
time to seal a win, providing the bowlers can produce a repeat performance in
the second innings.
Meanwhile, closest challengers Warwickshire are 175-3 as
they head towards the close of day one at Edgbaston but, with a little help
from the elements, maybe Notts can seal a win here and reduce the advantage
that the Bears have with their game in hand.
Day three awaits…
