Notts favourites to progress to T20 finals day

This isn’t a tipping service by any means but it’s interesting to look at the views of the bookmakers and I thought that Notts were pretty good value to lift the T20 trophy this year. At the very least, another finals day could be on the cards but wouldn’t it be nice to convert all this potential and win the thing for once?

When we have been able to get out onto the pitch, our wins have generally been pretty emphatic and the individual performances impressive to say the least. Michael Lumb showed what a top player he is at this level with 213 runs while skipper Adam Voges notched 176 runs and chipped in with four wickets.

On the bowling front, Andy Carter is looking like he has huge potential, with 8 wickets and a match clinching performance against the Foxes at the weekend.

The bookies however aren’t that impressed and are maybe sticking to the notion that the southern group was much stronger this year. At the time of writing, Sussex are favourites to win the tournament at a best price of 15/4. Yorkshire however are second favourites with most outlets at 4/1 but you can get that same price on a Notts victory on finals day.

Thanks to the weather and other factors, I’ve personally seen little of the other sides and have been limited by having to watch the tournament on TV. However, I’ve seen nobody better than this Notts side so far.

We are 3/4 on to beat Hampshire later this month so if the bookmakers are right, we’ll get a day out in the rain at Cardiff at the very least. However, could this actually be our year to lift the trophy?
